The fiscalization requirements in Bulgaria are very rigorous and there are many mandatory rules which need to be followed. There are obligations regarding the mandatory use of fiscal devices as well as specific declaration procedures for the POS SW.
Bulgaria
Currently, the main fiscal regulation in Bulgaria, based on fiscal device, is from 2006. Many updates to Ordinance H-18, have been made in the last years. Deadlines, adjustments, mandatory or non-obligatory rules were introduced. Some of the important new requirements are the USN generated by POS software at the beginning of the transaction, the use of a QR code on the receipt layout, special voucher handling, special rules for e-shops, the transition of the official currency to EUR, etc.

Bulgaria proposes tax amendments
The Bulgarian Ministry of Finance has released a series of proposed tax amendments for public consultation, aiming to align national laws with EU regulations and enhance VAT administration. The acts refer to: Draft Ordinance amending and supplementing Ordinance No. 5 of October 4, 2007 on the terms and conditions for acquisition, registration, payment, and trading of government securities; Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Corporate Income Taxation; Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Personal Income Taxes; and Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Value Added Tax and the reasons for it.
