But, before they can be used in retail stores, they need to be fiscalized or activated in a proper, legally defined way. More precisely, before it can be used, the RT printer needs to be registered and activated in a particular manner. This procedure can be defined as the procedure of fiscalization. The activation of the device and its later registration serve to identify the device in a unique manner through the system of the Tax Authority. The fiscalization process in terms of RT devices and requirements in Italy is called the enumeration or verification process (censimento), and that process is mandatory for each singular RT device. The enumeration process of the RT device can be done only electronically, online, through the website of the Revenue Agency. The fiscalization part of the RT device needs to be done by the official service technician.
The main objective of this process is to communicate to the Revenue Agency that a specific taxpayer manages the correspondent RT and transmission of data. Also, every single RT must be disclosed to the Revenue Agency in order to obtain the file that constitutes the RT certificate. This RT certificate is used to sign the XML file sent at the daily closure. The whole fiscalization and defiscalization procedure can be found on our fiscal portal, in the Italy documentation section.
