A new type of fiscalization in Montenegro has been in force since 2021. They switched from hardware-based to software-based fiscalization. One of the novelties was the introduction of the Self-Care EFI Portal (SEP). It is basically a self-service web portal for electronic fiscalization, and it provides taxpayers access to their fiscal information. To use this portal, the user will need a certificate from the Register of Taxpayers.

Also, we can determine that the main functions of this portal are the registration of: fiscalization subject-retailer (taxpayer), SW which will be used by the retailer on a particular basis and its maintainer, operators and cashiers, and store-business premises. Those are very important elements of the fiscalization system in Montenegro, and every change must be reported as well.
