The French Ministry of Finance has made an important announcement regarding the implementation timeline for the new e-invoicing system. The originally set deadline has been postponed to a date that remains uncertain at this time. Conversations and deliberations regarding the new implementation dates for domestic business-to-business (B2B) e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations are currently ongoing. The revised timeline for the implementation is expected to unfold as follows:

  1. In the first quarter of 2024, the initial list of approved service providers, referred to as "PDPs" or Plateformes de Dématérialisation Partenaires, will be unveiled.
  2. Before the conclusion of 2024, the development of a government platform known as "PPF," or Portail Public de Facturation, will be finalized within a qualification environment.
  3. The year 2025 will mark the commencement of pilot phases for companies, irrespective of their size, to gradually adapt to the new system.
  4. The full obligation is anticipated to commence progressively between March and October of 2026, extending into 2027.

Further details regarding this timeline will become available once discussions have been concluded by the National Forum for Electronic Invoicing and Electronic Public Markets (FNFE-MPE). Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
